Batch stabilization workflow

Horizon and rotation stabilization after batch analysis

The Batch Video Stabilizer extension automates Warp Stabilizer analysis for multiple clips. If the stabilized clips still have a tilted horizon, apply rotation correction to the clips that need it.

Check the horizon after Warp Stabilizer finishes

Warp Stabilizer reduces camera movement. Its stabilization methods can also correct changes in rotation, but reducing movement does not necessarily make a tilted image level. Check the angle after analysis rather than assuming every completed clip needs another correction.

For a sequence containing many handheld shots, separate the two checks: first review stabilization, then identify any clips with unwanted horizon tilt. A shot that is already stable and level does not need further processing.

AI Horizon Fixer for Premiere Pro provides AI-assisted and manual rotation correction. Use it for the clips that need horizon adjustment after reviewing the batch.

Use batch analysis and horizon correction in two stages

  1. Prepare the sequence. Save a copy of the project and finish trimming the clips you plan to stabilize.
  2. Run Batch Video Stabilizer. Queue the selected clips and choose sequential or parallel analysis. Enable adding Warp Stabilizer for clips that do not have the effect. Use the reanalysis setting when existing effects need fresh analysis.
  3. Check the queue results. Resolve failed or skipped clips separately, then play the stabilized sequence.
  4. Select clips with unwanted tilt. Review their horizon angle at several points. Identify which clips need a fixed adjustment and which need changing rotation.
  5. Apply horizon correction. Run AI Horizon Fixer separately on the clips that need it, following its horizon correction and rotation keyframe instructions.
  6. Review the combined result. Check motion, rotation and framing across the complete clip before exporting.

Completing Warp Stabilizer analysis before assessing the horizon is a useful starting point. Test a representative clip with both tools before applying the workflow to the rest of the sequence.

HorizonSteady, Horizon Lock and correction after recording

If footage recorded without HorizonSteady or Horizon Lock needs adjustment, first check what is visible in the edited clip. You may need to reduce shake, fix a tilted horizon, or do both. These are separate decisions in the batch workflow.

To keep the horizon steady when roll changes during a clip, review rotation throughout the shot. A fixed adjustment based on one frame will not follow later changes in tilt. The AI Horizon Fixer product page explains its options for changing roll; its HorizonSteady article covers that recording-specific use case.

Correction in Premiere adjusts the recorded image. It does not enable a camera’s original horizon-lock mode after recording or recover image content outside the recorded frame.

Review cropping after both corrections

Warp Stabilizer’s framing and an additional rotation adjustment can each reduce the visible area. Compare the final composition with the original clip, especially when the first stabilization pass already required substantial scaling.

Check the clip’s beginning, end and strongest movement. Look for exposed corners, important subjects near the edges and unwanted changes in scale. If the frame becomes too tight, review the Warp Stabilizer cropping settings and the horizon correction’s framing options together.

If you reanalyze Warp Stabilizer or change its settings later, check the horizon and crop again before accepting the combined result.

Follow the separate product guides

Use the Batch Video Stabilizer user guide for queue settings and analysis. Detailed controls for fixed tilt, sampled rotation keyframes and zoom are documented in the AI Horizon Fixer user guide.

AI Horizon Fixer requires Premiere Pro 25.6.5 or newer. Check its product page for installation and compatibility before planning a workflow with both extensions.
